I encourage soap and lotion makers to use it right from the leaf to get the full benefits. Aloe is great and if you have your own aloe plant, its cheap! I blend up the chunks before using in recipes. I also like to take the extra that is left in the bowl and apply it right to my face. Always makes my skin feel nice.
